2016年12月22日から同年12月31日まで行われた「PlayStation.Blog Game of the Year 2016 Awards」(US) の投票結果が2017年1月12日に発表されました。
このアワードは PlayStation 4 や PlayStation Vita などのプラットフォームや Best Story や Best Soundtrack などゲームの要素ごとに分かれた投票であり、投票可能な地域は北米と欧州です。気になる PlayStation VR の結果は以下のようになりました。

こうして見ると既存コンテンツの強さが垣間見えます。バットマンやスターウォーズはもちろん、Eve Valkyrie も EVE Online という膨大なユーザー数を持つゲームから生まれた作品です。
この中で最も成功を収めたゲームは Job Simulator かもしれません。ランクインした既存コンテンツを利用したゲームとは異なり、独立したゲームとして第3位に食い込んだ事は素晴らしい結果です。その成功は他の小規模なデベロッパやパブリッシャにとっても心強いものとなるでしょう。
